Shiley Eye Institute Renovation

To accommodate increased patient volume and provide the best care to our community, the Shiley Eye Institute Renovation project will convert the vacated second floor from research and office space into clinical space.

When

Make-ready construction efforts are targeted to begin in mid- to late July.

Where

Shiley Eye Institute, east and west ends of building and in landscape area.

Impact

Eye surgery patient drop-off area will be relocated to the first floor of the Athena Parking Structure and the pick-up area will be relocated to Medical Center Drive, directly south of Shiley.

For the safety of all, additional vehicle yield signage will be added to the lighted pedestrian crosswalk between Athena and the Shiley Eye Institute.

The northeast entrance/exit of Shiley Eye Institute will be unavailable during this construction project.

We understand that our patients will be impacted by this work and appreciate your patience and understanding as UCSD Health and the Shiley Eye Institute expand to serve our patients and the community.
