The Department of Ophthalmology recently had the honor of hosting Paul A. Sieving, M.D., Ph.D., the Director of the National Eye Institute (NEI), the National Institutes of Health (NIH), at the monthly Community Lecture Series and at a Vision Research Lecture as well. Dr. Sieving presented “NEI Audacious Goals Initiative: Looking to the Future of Vision Research” to the residents, fellows, faculty as well as community ophthalmologists and “Translational Research” to the UC San Diego vision research team. The department hosts monthly continuing medical education lectures for the San Diego community.
